This is important, but it is equally important to separate facts from marketing terms.

Astra is not "proof of AGI." Instead, it is a specific, publicly described frontier model that combines reasoning with the execution of multi-step actions.

The biggest change is that OpenAI does not describe Astra solely as a question-answering system.

The model is designed to perform tasks using a computer, browser, code, documents, and specialized tools.

In practice, this means a shift from a "write me an answer" model toward a "perform a process for me" approach.
